Pedrosa maintains lead as testing wraps-up in Sepang

Dani Pedrosa (photo by MotoGP)Again it was Dani Pedrosa who stayed on top as the first MotoGP test concluded today.

Pedrosa set the fastest time of the day with a time of 2.00’100. With the Repsol Honda rider keeping ahead of Jorge Lorenzo who kept his Yamaha YZR-M1 in second place in front of his returning team-mate Valentino Rossi who took third. Repsol Honda newbie Marc Marquez set the fourth fastest time.

With a time of 2.00’734 Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow held on to fifth place while testing his pace on worn tyres.  LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl again showed great pace completing the last day of testing in sixth, The German was followed by Go & Fun Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista and rookie rider Bradley Smith made brilliant progress in eighth, even with soaring heat the British rider showed he has true potential within the premier class.  Ducati’s Nicky Hayden took ninth and not far behind  was his team-mate was Andrea Dovizioso, the Ducati team will be hoping for more progress at the next MotoGP test in a few weeks time.    By Laura Turner
