Sarah Moore has a successful test in a JCW Class Mini Challenge car

The car, belonging to A Reeve Motorsport was very different to the Cooper class car she had run at the weekend.

It’s got a sequential gearbox and considerably more horsepower making it close to a mini touring car as opposed to the mostly standard Cooper class mini.

On her first run out, the task was just to adjust to the faster car although Moore instantly felt comfortable with the car and the way it handled. Having driven the quick LMP3 cars this season, the extra speed of the JCW after the Cooper wasn’t an issue.

Having started the day setting 2:14 laps times, she was soon down to 2:08. Moore felt happy with those times for her first runs out but also felt she could knock another big chunk off and so pushed harder still. After a tyre change due to a lock up she set a best time of 2:06.3. With the Race meeting earlier in the year being on a different layout there wasn’t chance to compare times but the team and Moore were happy with how it gone, particularly as Moore felt she could still make considerable improvements to her times.

Moore was happy and made clear that she’d like the opportunity to race one;

“So after a successful test day behind me, I'd love to give a race weekend a shot against the 30 plus grid of cars and like to say I'd be happily inside the top 10. At the moment it depends on budget, but if I can get the money together I would love to do at least one round if not the rest of the season.” By Marc Waller
