Alli Owens’ performance in the Slick Mist 200 practice sessions has the Daytona Beach, FL., native eagerly awaiting race day.

The No. 19 ElectrifyingCareers Monte Carlo was sixth-fastest in the day’s first practice session, posting a fastest lap time of 49.568 seconds (181.569 mph) around the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway. Owens ended the second practice session of the afternoon 13th on the chart with a fastest lap of 49.767 seconds (180.843). Owens was the fastest female among the 55 car field entered in the event.
 
“Our car was awesome today,” said Owens.  “We didn’t get a chance to make a mock qualifying run today, so our time didn’t reflect how good theElectrifyingCareers Chevy really is.  I know that we’ll be fine tomorrow.  We ended practice in 13-place, but I expect us to qualify closer towards the top-five. Our car handled really well and performed just how we were hoping.  We’ve got a few more adjustments to try tomorrow, but we’re off to a great start.
 
“I’m really excited to know that my teammates all finished practice in the top-10. I think I’ll be in good company for the race.”
