Pricing confirmed for expanded 2020 Honda Civic Type R family
Honda UK has announced on the road pricing for the hotly anticipated expanded Civic Type R family. Set to hit retail forecourts over the next few weeks, the entry level model will cost £32,820, both the GT and the Sportline are an additional £2,000 and the range topping Limited Edition Civic Type R is £39,995.
PCP pricing has also been confirmed for the new car with monthly payments in line with the current car and starting at £339* a month on a three-year 5.9% contract for the entry level version of the new Civic Type R.
All models gain a revised air intake system, improved cooling, two-piece floating disc brakes for increased performance, revised suspension geometry and bushings for improved ride compliance, and minor cosmetic changes to the interior and exterior.
The Civic Type R GT will benefit from blind spot information including cross traffic monitor, dual zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Honda CONNECT with Garmin Navigation, wireless charging, high power audio, and LED front fog lights.
Intended for those who want the performance of a Civic Type R but in a more unassuming shell, the new Civic Type R Sport Line introduces a subtler look, with a low-level rear spoiler, all-black interior, smaller 19” wheels with a larger profile tyre, and no pin-strip around the lower flanks of the car.
At the other end of the scale is the Limited Edition, which is aimed at those who want the most extreme version of a Civic Type R. Only 100 of these cars are destined for Europe with just 20 coming to the UK; all of which have already been accounted for with enthusiasts. The Limited Edition features lightweight 20” BBS forged alloy wheels, unique ‘Sunlight Yellow’ paint, and a 47kg weight saving over the standard version.
Inside, all models feature revised tactility and improved touch points, with a new Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, a counterweighted teardrop gear knob and physical controls for the infotainment and climate systems.

Bentley installs living green wall
Bentley Motors has installed a living wall at its headquarters and production facility in Crewe, UK. Designed to increase biodiversity – the installation is the latest step on the British brand’s journey towards becoming the world’s most sustainable luxury car manufacturer.
Located on the side of Bentley’s main production hall, the living wall is the first of its kind in South Cheshire and contains over 2,600 plants. It includes 28 species of ferns, grasses and evergreens, all grown locally in the UK and selected to ensure that the walls thrives throughout the year. Each plant is individually potted, and in line with Bentley’s commitment to reduce unnecessary water use, the installation incorporates a special automated watering system to ensure that the plants receive just the right amount of water - whatever the weather.
World premiere of the new VW Golf Estate1 and Golf Alltrack
World premiere for the new Golf Estate: the compact estate is now even more spacious, dynamic and digital than ever before. The greater amounts of available space, comprehensive standard features and new drive types with mild hybrid and twin dosing technology represent pioneering characteristics. The new Golf Alltrack as the all-wheel drive Golf Estate with SUV genes is also making its debut.
In comparison with its predecessor the new Golf Estate’s exterior design has become more clear-cut and dynamic. The front end clearly shows its close relation to the new Golf. Further back, the Estate shows its typical uniqueness featuring a roof section that becomes flatter towards the rear as well as a coupé-type, angled rear window. The new generation is 4,633 mm long and now boasts a wheelbase of 2,686 mm (respectively a 66 mm increase compared with its predecessor). This increase in length rearranges the proportions and makes the Golf Estate appear more elongated and flatter. The headlights and tail light clusters always feature LED technology.
The increased exterior length and wheelbase benefit the vehicle interior of the Golf Estate. Five passengers can be accommodated in comfort in the new Golf Estate as the additional wheelbase length is used almost entirely for the interior. The interior length increases by 48 mm to 1,798 mm. As the legroom thereby also increases by 48 mm, the extra space has a particularly noticeable positive effect, especially in the rear. Passengers can stow their luggage in a generously dimensioned luggage compartment: when loaded up to the top edge of the rear seat backrest, it offers 611 litres of stowage space (6 litres more compared with the Golf Estate 7). With the vehicle loaded up to the roofliner with integrated luggage compartment net and the front seat backrests, the volume increases to 1,642 litres (an increase of 22 litres). If both hands are busy holding shopping or luggage, the optionally available, electrically operated rear boot lid can alternatively be opened using the sensor-controlled luggage compartment opener – by means of a foot gesture in front of the Golf Estate’s rear bumper.
Suzuki introduce the Jimmy Light Commercial Vechicle
Suzuki has introduced a new 2-seater light-commercial vehicle version of its small and lightweight off-roader, the Jimny. Since its launch in 2018, the model has attracted both private-users and professionals who seek for an authentic off-road performance.
To further meet the needs of professionals, the new Jimny light commercial vehicle model comes with a large luggage compartment with a flat floor and safety cargo partition.
The light commercial vehicle model features the same authentic, uncompromising off-roading performance desired by professionals as the passenger vehicle model with key essentials – a ladder frame, the three angles, 3-link rigid axle suspension and ALLGRIP PRO, a part-time 4WD system with low range transfer gear.
For enhanced utility, the light commercial vehicle model has a large 863-litre capacity, 33 litre more than the passenger vehicle model when rear sear seats are folded down, with a flat floor for better practicality and safety partition that protects cargoes moving into the cabin.
New Hyundai Tucson Finishes intensive testing
The all-new Tucson has completed the last steps of testing and quality assurance. Following an intensive development period in Hyundai testing centres, proving grounds and roads across the globe, the all-new Hyundai Tucson has been fine-tuned in the Czech Republic and Austria ahead of its market launch.
The all-new Tucson is the fourth generation of Hyundai’s best-selling SUV. It is the first Tucson to be developed under Hyundai’s new design identity, Sensuous Sportiness. It is also fun-to-drive, thanks to responsive engine and transmission choices, paired with practical characteristics for everyday usage, from four-wheel drive to towing capabilities.
Vehicle quality is a priority for Hyundai. In recent years, the company has consistently been recognised with awards reflecting this. In the 2020 U.S. Initial Quality Study, consumer bible J.D. Power ranked the third-generation Tucson the best compact SUV on the market.
The digital world premiere of the all-new Tucson will take place at 01:30am (UK) on 15 September. The livestream, a teaser video and images will be available at hyundai.com and on Hyundai’s social media channels.
