After his performance at the track, Fuller was invited to Silverstone to take hold of the Honda Civic – and this year joins the team for the season, racing an NGTC Volkswagen CC.
Here’s what Howard had to say about the upcoming season…
Howard, how are you feeling about teaming up with Tony Gilham and Team HARD. again during the 2013 season?
I’m feeling very excited about driving with Team HARD. again this year – and I’m honoured to be a part of a vastly growing team!
Do you have any ideas of how many rounds you will be taking part in this season?
The aim is to compete in all ten rounds! I’ll be working with Tony not only as a drive but as a business to raise awareness and sponsorship for the future.
You had your first experience of touring cars last year when you competed at Rockingham and Silverstone. What were your feelings about your time on the grid?
Racing last year in the BTCC was the most amazing experience! It’s totally different to what I’ve been part of in the past and racing alongside big names in the sport was the weirdest feeling, but this didn’t affect my performance. I didn’t feel nervous sitting on the grid at all – I just wanted to get going!
Looking back on your past BTCC outings, what will you take from them into the 2013 season?
For sure, racing in the BTCC has given me extra confidence to attack straight of the box and to show that I’m capable of being more competitive this year.
Do you have any expectations for the up-coming season?
My expectations are to be within the top ten for sure. But above all, beating my team mates as we all share the same tools and equipment.
Are you looking forward to working with your fellow team mates?
I’m really looking forward to working with my team mates – we all seem to get on really well. We’re all quite young and have a lot to prove but I feel the relationships between us will be strong throughout the year. By Nikki Thompson
