To celebrate this achievement, Mini and John Cooper Works have announced they will build a special, limited-edition road car based on the Dakar winning Mini All4 Racing. Only to be sold in France, 11 copies of the “MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 Dakar Winner 2013” will be built to reflect Peterhansel’s 11 wins on the Dakar.
The new special edition is based on the Mini John Cooper Works Countryman, the firm’s first model to combine rally proven powertrain and chassis technology with all-wheel-drive. ALL4 serves to provide the driver and passenger with optimum traction, directional stability and agility in all weather and road conditions.
Inspired by the eye-catching green exterior colour of Peterhansel’s Dakar winning Mini All4 Racing, the matt black special edition also features bright green design accents both on the outside and inside. These include Sport Stripes containing the Dakar Rally winner’s logo and Peterhansel’s on the bonnet.
Elsewhere, the green stripes on the outside that run along the sides feature “MINI ALL4 Racing” lettering, while the driver and front passenger doors display the car number 302 and the names of the winning driver and co-driver.
The Dakar winner’s logo can also be seen alongside the John Cooper Works badge at the rear of the car. Inside, the green contrast stitching for the gearshift lever gaiter and floor mats, and the green embroidered winner’s logo on the head restraints, are complemented by green stripes for the black interior trim strip on the centre console.
Finally, a special-edition logo, complete with serial number on the interior trim strip above the glovebox, a John Cooper Works sports steering wheel and Gravity Black leather sports. Auxiliary spotlights, bespoke side indicator surrounds and 19-inch light-alloy wheels in Cross-Spoke Crusher design add the finishing touches of the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 Dakar Winner 2013.
