After also taking on various races during the year, including the WTCC, Holland will return to the team in 2013. Here’s what the American had to say about the season ahead…
Robb, how are you feeling about teaming up with Tony Gilham and Team HARD. again during 2013?
I always look forward to working with Tony. He’s an ambitious guy and is working his butt off to become one of the top teams in the country.
Are you sure yet as to which or how many rounds you will be taking part in this year?
Right now I’m only scheduled to run Snetterton and Knockhill, the same as last year. My focus for the season is WTCC but fortunately those two BTCC rounds come during the mid-summer break for WTCC so there are no conflicts.
You first experienced the BTCC last year – what were your feelings about your time on the grid?
It was fantastic! The racing and the series is top shelf but I really enjoy the British (and Scottish) fans – they were very welcoming. I think they were excited to see an American coming in as somewhat of an underdog. It was very interesting to see what the BTCC was like from behind the wheel after all these years watching it on TV in the US. Everything I expected and then some.
WTCC was also on your racing schedule during 2012; are you looking forward to getting back into the world series this year?
Absolutely! To compete in an FIA World Championship series has been my goal since I started racing. I’m coming in as a rookie but I hope to be a quick study and be competitive in the independent class before too long.
Are you looking forward to working with your fellow Team HARD. team mates?
I am. I didn’t have any team mates when I came over last season so it will be interesting now having three on a race weekend. I met a few of the boys when I was out for the Autosport Show in January. Seems like we should all get along well. By Nikki Thompson
