Beginning Wednesday morning and setting off from Milan’s Piazza Castello, Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary Grand Tour will see the largest ever gathering of Sant’ Agata’s finest, brought together to help celebrate the founding of the supercar manufacturer.
The stats for the event alone are impressive. 350 Lambo’s stretching a total of 4km and consisting of 320 registered participants and approximately 30 courtesy cars for media and guests. That translates to roughly 190,000hp of Raging Bull’s on the road!
Tuesday saw the drivers, co-drivers, guests etc (700 in total) arrive at the Piazza Castello for registration and entrance to the parc fermè for those driving to the first meeting point. The press conference to announce the start of the tour was then held at the Pirelli Foundation, to highlight the partnership between the two iconic companies since 1963, the year Lamborghini was founded.
A photo taken at the gathering showed cars coming from 29 different countries, 71 from the U.K., 30 each from Italy, Germany and Switzerland, 21 with plates showing the U.S. and 17 from China. Other countries bringing their cars to the party include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, 
Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway,
Portugal, Monaco, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Tunisia and Ukraine. The youngest driver taking part in the tour is a 22 year-old from Kuwait, the oldest, a 75 year-old from France.
Historic Lambo’s on the tour include three 350 GTs, five 400 GTs, seventeen Miura’s, eight Espada’s, two Jarama’s, six Urraco’s, 15 Countach’s, 1 LM 002, 21 Diablo’s and 36 Murcielago’s. The most amount of models taking part goes to the Gallardo with 123 registered.

The first destination on the tour will be Bobbio in the Trebbia Valley with the first day ending in Forte dei Marmi, the exclusive seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian coast.
After Forte dei Marmi, the convoy will arrive on May 9th in Rome, passing through the base of the 4° Stormo of Air Force at Grosseto. The next morning will see the tour head to Bologna, crossing the towns of Orvieto, Arezzo and San Giustino Valdarno, where everyone will stop for lunch at the Tenuta il Bobbio.
On the 10th, in the evening, the cars will arrive in the center of Bologna, where the city will welcome the tour at the Palazzo Re Enzo. The next morning, in Piazza Maggiore, a special concours d’elegance will be held for the historic cars in the tour, ranging from the first 350 GT up to the last 25th Anniversary Countach. The final day, the 11th, the tour will conclude at the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese where a gala dinner celebrating Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary will be held. By James Foreman
