Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay, whose victory last year in Milwaukee provided the springboard to claiming his first IndyCar championship, repeated the achievement Saturday at the historic Milwaukee Mile.
Marco Andretti, who currently lies second in the IndyCar championship behind Helio Castroneves, secured pole position Friday in Milwaukee thereby trimming the Brazilian’s points lead by one point.
IndyCar’s first doubleheader race weekend is now in the books and appears to have been a success with two action filled races and circuit organizers wanting to keep this race format for next year.
This weekend will see the first running of IndyCar’s doubleheader races with the first race set to run on Saturday and the second race on Sunday.
