BTCC 2014 Donington – Tordoff fastest in second practice

Tordoff - fastest (photo by Marc Waller)Sam Tordoff gave himself a birthday present as he was fastest in second Practice at Donington. Tordoff, who is 25 today will now hope to replicate the position in qualifying.

Aron Smith continued his great weekend with second place and he was followed by his team mate Alain Menu in third. Fourth was Tordoff’s team mate Jason Plato. Adam Morgan was next up having an excellent session beating the works Honda of Gordon Sheddon who ended up sixth just ahead of Andrew Jordan in the Civic Hatchback. Marc Hynes took eighth this time with Fabrizio Giovanardi putting the Airwaves Ford Focus into the Dan Welch - first sight of his car in 2014 (photo by Marc Waller)Matt Neal (photo by Marc Waller)top ten for the first time this weekend in ninth. Martin Depper was an excellent tenth, only a couple of tenths off his team mate. Tom Ingram was eleventh with his Toyota Avensis, repaired for this weekend after his big crash at Brands Hatch. Matt neal was an unlikely twelfth but did better than the Ebay Motors team who were all outside the top ten. Collard was their best placed driver in thirteenth, with team mates Turkington and Foster in sixteenth and twentieth respectively. AMD Tuning driver Dave Newsham was seventeenth this time.

Dan Welch finally got his 2014 BTCC season started in this session but only just as he only managed a few slow laps but for the first time in 2014 we will have a full 31 car grid.
