British GT gets underway at Oulton Park

British GT podium (photo by Marc Waller)British GT 2014 kicked off at Oulton Park on the bank Holiday Monday and The Oman Racing team and Ecurie Ecosse were the two victorious teams of the two opening rounds.

Michael Caine and Ahmed Al Harthy in their Aston martin Vantage GT3 took the first race from the AF Corse Ferrari 458 italia of Pasin Lathouras. Third was last year’s champions Andrew Howard with his team mate Johnny Adam in their Beechdean Aston GT3. GT4 Honours were claimed by Jake Giddings and Ross Wylie in the Beechdean Aston Martin GT4.

Sir Chris Hoy finished his first GT race within the top ten in ninth place alongside his team mate Alex Buncombe in their Nissan GTR.

British GT podium (photo by Marc Waller)Race two was won relatively easily by Marco Attard and Alexander Sims in their Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 GT3. Second was Trackspeed’s Phil Keen and Jon Minshaw with Andrew Howard and Johnny Adam taking their second podium of the day in third.

GT4 honours for this race went to the TF SportAston Martin GT4 of Devon Modell and Andrew Jarman.

Sir Chris Hoy and Alex Buncombe this time were thirteenth.
