Jordan (photo by Marc Waller)Andrew Jordan again headed the times here at Thruxton in the second practice session.

His time of 1:16.314 was under lap record pace meaning Yvan Muller’s 12 year old record now looks almost certain to be broken.

Gordon Shedden was nearly half a second slower in the Honda Civic Tourer in second place with team mate Matt Neal this time joining Shedden right near the front end of the field. Sam Tordoff was again fastest MG in fourth with team mate Plato even further back this time in seventeenth.

The Mercedes of Wix racing’s Adam Morgan and Jack Goff in the RCIB Insurance Insignia were next up looking quick in fifth and sixth. Speedworks’ Tom Ingram was fastest Toyota with United Autosport’s Glyn Geddie having his best session of 2014 in eighth place. Airwaves’ Mat Jackson was ninth and Colin Turkington tenth in the best of the Ebay Motors BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BMW’s but had a bad end to his session when he crashed in the first corner bringing out a red flag. Both drivers having dropped back in the field compared to session one. As did Alain Menu who was only thirteenth this time just behind Fabrizio Giovanardi . As expected Aron Smith’s car could not be fixed in time from his earlier crash and there are doubts if it will be ready for qualifying. Dave Newsham of AMD Tuning was fourteenth this time, just inside the top half of the field.
