BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)Andrew Jordan has continued to lead the way on race day with a dominant victory in race one. It’ss his first ever win here at Thruxton.

After an early challenge from Mat Jackson he then pulled away and the win never looked in doubt.

Behind, the two works Honda Tourers of Neal and Shedden made it an all Honda Civic podium. Despite challenging strongly early on, Mat Jackson found himself unable to live with the Honda’s speed with both works Honda’s passing him relatively easily in the complex. The Airwaves driver did manage to hold on to fourth. Rob Collard had a strong race to fifth in the Ebay Motors BMW with team mate Colin Turkington not far behind in eighth, both drivers struggling with their cars handling. Jason Plato was sixth but it never looked like being his day. Alain Menu took seventh place BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)showing that he and the team are finally getting on top of the car’s performance. Adam Morgan took ninth, another strong finish for the still relatively new Wix Racing Mercedes A Class. Tenth was the second works MG of Sam Tordoff.

Dave Newsham failed to finish after battling with Fabrizio Giovanardi earlier in the race.

Aron Smith initially had a great race from the back in his Team BMR VW CC but an off onto the grass filled his vents with debris, meaning a visit to the pits was essential. This dropped him back down the field and he finished twenty second.

With Andrew Jordan looking so dominant, there is a good chance of him making it two out of two in the second race.
