Ebay Motors lead the BTCC pack at Oulton park

BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)It was Ebay Motors at the top of the timesheets at the end of a wet first practice here at Oulton Park. Turkington was fastest comfortably ahead of head of his team mate Collard.

With heavy rain falling early this morning, the circuit was very wet despite the rain stopping just as the session commenced. Jason Plato was best of the rest in third and unusually Marc Hynes put the Quantel Bifold Racing MG6 in fourth, his best result of the season so far in any session. Rob Austin was also having a good day in fifth unlike his team mate Hunter Abbot who was last after only completing a single timed lap. Gordon Shedden the first of the Hondas in sixth. Andrew Jordan was seventh, ahead of Tordoff in the second Tesco Fuel Save MG. Alain Menu was ninth in his BMR Restart racing Volkswagen with Nick Foster rounding out the top ten. Fabrizio Giovanardi appears to be continuing to have problems with his car handling and he was down in fifteenth, third of the four Ford Focus in the field. (Jackson was twelfth and Clarke was seventeenth.)

AMD Tuning’s Dave Newsham was fourteenth after a small off at Druids, although no significant damage was caused.
