Mixed fortunes for Jamie chadwick at Oulton Park

Things started well in practice, which was on a wet track, with a fifth place although Jamie felt she could go much quicker still. This proved to be the case when in qualifying on a drying track, she took second on the grid, her best position yet!  For the race two grid which is decided by the drivers second best times, Jamie was fourth.

Race onewas on a dry track and Jamie found herself battling from the start. She found herself in third place and looked set to hold that position as the laps counted down. On the final lap while going into the final corner, her rival Jamie Caroline made a last minute lunge towards her inside. Despite Jamie being ahead into the corner and with her taking the line, he continued with the move, running into her. She spun off the circuit while he continued into what was her third place.  Jamie managed to get going again but by now had dropped to seventh place.

With cars going off all through the race, it was inevitable the safety car was scrambled. Unexpectedly though it broke down as it was about to head into the pits before the restart. The field had to avoid it as it came to a halt on deer leap. By now Jamie was in fourth place just behind third placed Ryan Hadfield. She tried her best to find her way past but there just wasn’t a way through and she crossed the line just 2 tenths of a second behind.

It had been a mixed weekend again for Jamie. She showed she had the speed but again ran into misfortune losing third place at the end of race one but taking a strong fourth in race two. Croft is on the 27th and 28th June and she’ll be hoping for a strong weekend. By Marc Waller
