“We’re where we want to be,” said Ingram. “There’s a long way to go though. It’s very competitive so we’ll just have to see what we can do for qualifying.”

Shedden was the only other driver in th1:25’s his lap of 1:25.923 was just 0.065 seconds off Ingrams best.

Aron Smith again shone putting his BKR VW in third spot this time, just 0.155 seconds off the front.

Josh Cook’s MG was next up ahead of the WSR BMW duo of Goff and Tordoff. Their team mate Collard was again off their pace, perhaps suffering from success ballast he has gained since Thruxton.

The Subarus finally showed their improved pace with Jason Plato seventh ahead of Turkington. The other two Subarus were less fortunate with Scott down in twenty second and Cole in thirtieth after stopping on his fourth lap with a mystery problem.

Ninth was the other MG of Ashley Sutton with Rob Austin finding some more pace in tenth. Austin has been unhappy to be off Tom Ingram’s pace in the same car and so he will be feeling more positive after getting to within a second of Ingram’s fastest time.

Matt Neal was down in eleventh ahead of Andrew Jordan, both casualties of running success ballast. Jake Hill was thirteenth for RCIB Insurance racing ahead of Hunter Abbott and the previously mentioned Rob Collard in fifteenth.
