It had looked like being a repeat on session one with Turkington heading the times but it was all change in the final minutes. It had looked like being a wet session early on with dark clouds over the circuit and rain beginning to fall but in the end the threat blew away.

Ashley Sutton did actually try a run in wets but the circuit was far too dry for them to be worthwhile. It may have been an exercise in case of changeable conditions on race day.

So it was Morgan who ended up with the best time in the final minutes ahead of the works MG of Ashley Sutton, by then very much on slicks! Aron Smith took an impressive third in his BKR VW CC and had been on top of the timing screens for a while. Snetterton has always been one of the VW’s favoured circuits with two wins last year so Aron will be hoping to take full advantage.

Tom Ingram bumped Turkington further down the order when he took fourth by just 0.001 seconds. Behind Turkington was championship leader Tordoff still behind Turkington although no longer in the top two!

Aiden Moffat took seventh in the Laser Tools Mercedes while Hunter Abbott made up for a difficult first session with eighth.

Gordon Shedden sat out most of the session as his car had an engine change. It hadn’t been running correctly and so Shedden opted to get it fixed quickly and miss most of the session. Despite this when he emerged to test the new power unit he still took ninth fastest time.

Team mates Jordan and Jackson ended up battling for the final place in the top ten, Jordan taking it ahead of Jackson in their Motorbase Ford Focus.

Motorbase Performance’s Andrew Jordan got the better of team-mate Mat Jackson to claim tenth.

Twelfth was Rob Collard ahead of Matt Neal, Rob Austin and James Cole completing the top fifteen.

Jason Plato was again slow, in twentieth. He may well vault up the time sheets when it comes to qualifying.

Matt Simpson and Martin Depper both had problems with Simpson stopping out on track and Depper damaging his car as he ran off the circuit.
