After a brief shower of rain earlier in the morning, it was dry and sunny once again as the BTCC cars took to the track.

The order in this session was significantly different with Jason Plato, quickest in the first session now down in sixth. Adam Morgan was second behind Tom Ingram, 0.228 seconds off his time. Then came Jack Goff in the IHG Rewards Club BMW. He was quickest of the WSR run machines with Sam Tordoff in sixth and Rob Collard tenth.

Hunter Abbott looks set to continue his strong run of Saturday results as he was fourth fastest in the Power Maxed Chevrolet. It was a welcome return to the front end of the field for Eurotech’s Jeff Smith as he set the fifth fastest time. He had an off into the tyre barriers just after but fortunately his car suffered only cosmetic damage and he could continue in the session. Team mate Depper couldn’t find the same sort of pace and ended the session with the twenty third fastest time.

Shedden made it a bit higher up the field this time with eighth, Matt Neal his team mate still lags behind in seventeenth but expect him to move up the order when it matters in qualifying. Pirtek Racing’s (Motorbase) Andrew Jordan was ninth despite nearly throwing it off at the chicane when he took a bit too much kerb.

Aron Smith was just outside the top ten in eleventh for BKR, the Irishman hoping for more luck after a difficult Snetterton for all the team.

Colin Turkington was twelfth in his works BMR Subaru. The other two were sixteenth (Cole) and twenty fifth (Scott). Aidan Moffat was thirteenth in the Laser Tools Racing Mercedes, he will want to improve as he was further off the pace of the Wix Racing sister car driven by Adam Morgan.

Rob Austin kept his Toyota Avensis in the top half of the field with fourteenth for Handy Motorsport. The final spot of the top half of the field was taken by Jake Hill, the Team Hard run RCIB Insurance Avensis was the fastest of this team mates with Michael Caine in twenty fourth and Michael Epps in twenty seventh.

Dan Welch again had problems with the newly rebuilt Proton but improved on the previous session with twenty eighth fastest time.

Once again the entire field were close with just over a second separating the entire top twenty five and just 1.777 seconds separating the entire field.
