On the road with the Volvo V40 T2 Momentum Nav Plus

Volvo V40

Volvo V40 The summer holidays are finally over for most of us – and I am sure everyone is frantically buzzing around getting back to normal after a few weeks away.

That’s the thing about the summer holidays – it is so full of wonderful things you can see, like the odd SAS soldier out for a quiet walk – or that rambling Donkey out for that brisk walk in the morning sun while you sunbathe on the local beach. Isn’t it funny what you come across while you are out and about over the summer!

As it turned out, this year’s summer holiday was just as important for me – because I finally got the chance to go away on holiday with one of my best friends who was over from Sweden.

So, if I may – I would like to introduce you to my friend the ‘Volvo V40 T2 Momentum’.

Power and Efficiency:
The V40 T2 I have on test is powered by a 1969cc petrol engine that has 122hp and 220Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. Fuel economy also comes in at around 51.4mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions of 127g/km, along with a Top speed of around 118mph.

On the road:
A joy – I have said this before and I will say it again – driving around in a Volvo makes you feel happy. Yes, that’s happy. The reason for this still boggles my mind – but all I do know is that when I’m behind the wheel of a Volvo I feel very happy indeed. On the road – the V40 also feels controlled and very well balanced into the corners and the ride feels firm but relaxing. And that’s mainly down to Volvo doing a fantastic job of the V40’s chassis.

Design & Technology
The V40 has some stunning looks, sharp lines and LED lighting which all add to the fresh appeal of the V40 – with many people already commenting on its looks as well as its styling. The Volvo engineers have also put in a lot of effort to make the V40 more appealing to the younger buyer with its modern looks and technology which include as standard a Five-inch colour display screen, City Safety, LED headlights, Two-zone climate control, Speed limiter, Hill-start assist, Digital radio, Bluetooth handsfree system, 16-inch alloy wheels, 60/40 split-folding rear seats.

Safety:
Volvo has a long list of ‘IntelliSafe’ features on the V40 that are there to help prevent accidents and protect you in the event that one occurs. Plus, additional features can be added such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind spot information, Lane Keeping Aid and Forward Collision Warning which all helps in keeping you safe on the road.

Volvo V40 To sum up: Just brilliant
