Coming off the back of a non-starter of a weekend at Knockhill, where Emily rolled the Citroen Saxo at the chicane during Friday testing, Orex Competition staff did a brilliant job to get the car ready to go again on the International version of Silverstone Circuit.

Finishing the 2016 season in some fashion, Emily will be racing from the now iconic Wing pits – normally the home of Formula One and the World Endurance Championship – and is hoping some of that world championship magic will rub and cap what has been a great first season in circuit racing.

This weekend’s two races at Silverstone will also take the Scottish racer back to where she won the JSCC Scholarship following a number of tests, interviews and exams at Silverstone in February.

That experience will help Emily continue to pick up points during the two 15-minute races and with a number of front-runners busy squabbling for the championship there is a good opportunity to keep cool and pinch a few extra points, should there be any opportunities.

With qualifying and both races all taking place on Saturday, it is more vital than ever not to go too hard, too early and potentially scupper a whole day’s worth of competition.

Emily said: “I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to race at such an iconic track this weekend! However it does bring with it some mixed emotions with it being my last ever meeting as the JSCC scholarship winner. We’ve had a fantastic season and I hope we’ll round it off in style with some brilliant results to reward everyone in the team for their hard efforts all year”
