Class Podium for Jamie Chadwick in VLN Race 9

Track action

Track actionJamie Chadwick (18), 2015 British GT4 Champion, who successfully completed her Nordschleife licence last month, finished 3rd in the SP8 Class this weekend in the 4 hour race, driving the #133 Aston Martin Racing GT8

at the legendary 13 mile (21 km) Nurburgring – incorporating the Grand Prix Circuit and the Nordschleife extension.

Jamie, who was running with Nexcel livery and incorporating their innovative re-refining motor oil system, that can be removed with a simple handle and then replaced in only 90 seconds, was delighted with the result, commenting:

“Having earned my Nordschliefe permit this summer, it was great to be invited back so soon to race in the GT8 and of course to get on the podium. The Nordschleife is like no other circuit – huge grids, ever changing conditions, no margin for error, and long race stints. But, deeply satisfying when it all goes well. Unusually, I actually drove two cars in this race – having completed my stint in the GT8 I was called up to run in the V8 Vantage permit car.”

“A big thanks to all at Aston Martin Test Centre for their ongoing support, and taking great care of me”.

This incredible circuit, originally built in 1927, is no longer used for Grand Prix racing having been deemed too long and dangerous. But, it remains popular for GT and Endurance racing, where the demanding combination of 73 corners, elevation changes of 1000 feet, and over 13 miles of tight and often bumpy track, rewards only the finest drivers.
