British GT News in brief – The Demon Tweeks Lamborghini does the double

The Demon Tweeks car leads away at the start of race one (Photo Marc Waller)The Barwell run Demon Tweeks Lamborghini Huracan of Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen has won both rounds of the British GT championship at Oulton Park today.

The first race was held in wet conditions and the Demon Tweeks car with Minshaw at the wheel led from the start. From then he just pulled away and Keen repeated the feat to win.
Behind the battle for second was much closer and came down to a fight between the second Barwell Lamborghini, the reigning champion TF Sport Aston and the Team Parker Bentley.

In the end Liam Griffin and ex BTCC driver Sam Tordoff came out of that battle ahead with Derek Johnston and Jonny Adam of TF Sport in third. The Team Parker Bentley of Rick Parfitt and Seb Morris was fourth ahead of the second TF Sport Aston of Mark Farmer and Jon Barnes.

The second race of the day was an eventful affair with cars spinning off and crashing all around the circuit. Minshaw and Keen came out on tp again ahead of TF Sport’s Johnston and Adam. The second TF sport Aston made it a TF sport 2-3 with Mark Farmer and Jon Barnes making the podium.

race one podium (Photo Marc Waller)The race ended under the safety car after a huge accident between one of the Team Parker Bentleys and the ABBA racing Mercedes. Both cars were heavily damaged as was the tyre wall meaning racing couldn’t resume. The chequered flag was then shown as the safety car circulated.

GT4 was won by Adam Balon and Adam Mackay in their track club Ginetta G55 in race one. Race twos winners were the Lanan Racing Ginetta of Alex Reed and David Pittard.
