Sarah Moore joins the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 cup in a Ligier

Sarah MooreYork racer Sarah Moore has confirmed she’ll be joining the grid of one of Britain’s most exciting new championships at Donington Park this weekend, 22 & 23 April.

Sarah will tackle the opening round of the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup as the series makes its official debut at the East Midlands circuit following a successful trial race last year.

Racing for the family team Tockwith Motorsport, Sarah will race a Ligier JSP3 alongside United Autosports founder Richard Dean in the two one-hour races.

The move to the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup will help Sarah improve on her already impressive credentials in sportscar racing, which includes class victories in the VLN Championship that races on the Nurburgring.

She will partner Richard in taking on some of the best teams and drivers in the country – including a two-car effort from Richard’s own United Autosports team – with rivals including Matt Bell, who was an LMP3 podium finisher in the European Le Mans Series, and rising single-seater star Thomas Randle.

Sarah does come into the Donington weekend with decent testing mileage beneath her belt however, as a series of tests at Portimao have helped her get comfortable behind the wheel of the Ligier.

She said: “The Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup is developing into a very competitive series and I’m pleased to say I’ll be taking part in the first round of the year.

“I’m looking forward to racing with the family team and with Richard, he’s a rapid driver and a good font of knowledge to have around with his experience of the car. I think we’ll work well together and I can’t wait to get going on Saturday.”

Saturday 22 April sees a one-hour practice session beginning at 10:35am, combined with a ten minute qualifying session at 1.10pm and a 60 minute race at 3.25pm.

A day later on Sunday, another 10 minute qualifying takes place at 12pm with the second one-hour race starting at 3.40pm.
