I took my old Escort for an MOT the other day – she passed ok – but the man who gives you the all OK part at the end said my front number plate has been attacked by water ingress and he advised me to get it changed.
So, off I went down to my local car repair shop to buy another. The problem was though – do you think I could find a local number plate stockist where I live.
Well the short answer was NO. For some reason it seems that finding a shop that can make you a new plate in double quick time is very difficult.
So in my frustration I decided to use the internet but that was even worse because all the online number plate company’s I came across seemed to have a head office in China – so that was out.
Then I asked a friend who had recently used a company called ‘number1plates.com’ my friend said they were really good and I should give them a try.
So, I went online and they did loads of different standard plates, model specific plates, motorcycle plates, 4×4 plates and last but not least – vintage plates which for me was what I was after as I have a 1979 Mk1 Escort and I really wanted to give my car that special look – but not in plastic which is what I had to use the last time I replaced my number plate due to a hooligan ripping it off in a car park some months earlier.
Number1plates.com offer a lot of different choices all done using high class quality materials – such as; Acrylic, Aluminium, Pressed Aluminium and Perspex (ABS). I ordered my number plate using their easy online plate builder. It was actually very easy to use and select the plate size, font and design you wanted.
It only took a few minutes to do and I was ready to pay using a secure connection with either SagePay or PayPal making it very easy to use overall.
My plates arrived in double quick time via Royal mail tracked and signed for in secure packaging to help protect the plates once they were in transit. When they arrived – I opened them, and I have to say they are the best plates I have seen in a long time. It says on their website that all plates are same day dispatch when ordered before 1 pm! That is true – because mine turned up the very next day.
