Fourteen year Abbi Pulling has been impressing in British Karting for several years now but this season has been her best yet.
A couple of weeks ago on Sunday 10th September she became the first ever female British Junior Karting champion, beating the runner up by two points to take the title. Before this in August, she won two titles in the same day at Kimbolton circuit when she won the ‘O’ Plate and Maxxis TKM Festival Junior TKM Elite titles in the same day, the only driver ever to do this!
Adding to her dominant performance she also set the fastest lap of the event with a 1:01.23 set in the first final.
Abbi spoke after winning her third title in September;
‘’Wow having been the first female to win both the Jnr TKM Festival and O Plate in the same weekend I felt honoured, but to now win the Jnr TKM British Championship I am now truly emotional. No driver has ever done the three in one year, I’ve done it in 2 months, I have created history and it’s an incredible feeling. I need to thank so many people my Dad, Andy Pulling who has been there from the start and all the emotions of being up and down, particularly Alan Turney, Talko Racing, who believed in me, BWRDC, Banzai Events.com, London Rally School, Koden Helmets, A-M Events, Bethanie Lawson Photography. All of which have been on my journey and supported me. Thank you for all of you support and confidence in me.”
The TKM boss, Alan Turney, seemed very impressed;
“Abbi is a tremendous young talent. To pull off this triple win is a fantastic achievement and I am sure she is going to have a very successful career in motorsport.”
She also drew praise from Lorraine Gathercole, the chair of the British woman racing drivers club (BWRDC);
“Abbi is an outstanding talent and the Club is excited to be a part of her journey. She has already won many of the Club’s awards and I am sure her tally will increase as she goes from strength to strength. I have no doubt that Abbi has a bright future in motorsport and wish her every success”
