Women-only Polaris expedition set to take on Iceland

Showcasing the extreme versatility and adventure-ready nature of the Polaris Off Road side-by-side lineup, the Polaris Outlanding Project is set to support six female team members, as they prepare for the journey of a lifetime across the volcanic landscape of Iceland.

Taking place this September, the specially-equipped Polaris vehicles will embark on a week-long journey, travelling thousands of kilometres across the intense and breathtaking landscape of the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’.

Representing France, Germany and Austria, Spain and Portugal, the United Kingdom and Ireland and Scandinavia, the vehicles will be driven by six females members of the Polaris team from across Europe, all with a shared urge to break from the ‘norm’ of everyday life, experience something new and unknown and engage other women riders to experience similar adventures. The team will be completely self-sufficient without aids or support vehicles, travelling with just three Polaris side-by-sides and their camping equipment to sustain them over seven adventure-filled days.

The most versatile adventure side-by-side in the industry will spearhead the expedition: The Polaris GENERAL 1000 Deluxe ABS. Equipped with a CAMPWERK iKamper top tent, a Taubenreuther special design Multi-Rack storage solution, XOBI outdoor kitchen, Pro Armor® light bar and beadlock wheels, Polaris Engineered rock sliders, front hood storage and much more, in addition to the purpose-built features straight from the factory, the team will be well served to get the most out of every moment, day and night.

The journey will start in Reykjavík with a visit to STORMUR EHF – the official Polaris distributor in Iceland – to collect their Polaris vehicles. From there the team’s Icelandic adventure begins. Travelling over smooth tarmac roads to the less-travelled gravel F-roads, the team will navigate through ford crossings, steep, slippery inclines, and the famed black sands, all of which will lead them to uncover some of the most beautiful landscapes and natural wonders in the northern hemisphere – including a close encounter with the erupting Fagradalsfjall volcano. Imagine remote and unspoilt scenery including diverse lava fields and spectacular mountains, geothermal hot springs overlooked by looming glaciers, and breathtaking waterfalls that few places on earth can match; the Polaris riders will experience them all.
