Heartbreak for Doriane Pin

Returning to Le Mans for the first time since 2023, Pin arrived carrying momentum from an impressive European Le Mans Series campaign. Having already secured podium finishes and regularly challenged for victories in LMP2 Pro-Am competition.

Doriane Pin topped the first practice session with a 3:35.248 lap and further improved her lap time in the qualifying session clocking a 3:34.662.

Throughout practice, qualifying and more than 20 hours of racing, the Frenchwoman and her #30 Duqueine teammates were the team to beat in LMP2.

In what looked set to become a historic moment, dreams were shattered on lap 308 with only three hours to go until the chequered flag. The car, driven by Verschoor pulled off at the exit of the Daytona chicane with a front left brake problem.

“My brakes exploded,” the Dutchman reported on the team radio.

Throughout the race the car was always within the top three in class until disaster struck and was the only LMP2 car to retire from the race.
