New VW ID. Tiguan premieres in October

Volkswagen ID. Tiguan

Volkswagen advances its naming strategy with its next all‑electric model. Following the ID. Polo and ID. Cross, the new ID. Tiguan is set to arrive in early 2027, carrying a familiar name to give customers clear orientation and reinforce a strong, recognisable product identity.

Positioned as the successor to the ID.4 and ID.5, the ID. Tiguan will join the lineup alongside the combustion and hybrid Tiguan models, offering a fully electric interpretation of the brand’s best‑known SUV. Its world premiere is scheduled for early October, with final testing continuing under camouflage until then.

The importance of SUVs in this segment for Volkswagen is illustrated by the following figures: The Tiguan is currently the best-selling model worldwide for both the Volkswagen brand and the Volkswagen Group. In the past year alone, deliveries of the Tiguan and its sister model, the Tayron, exceeded one million units. Both models are available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. In the all-electric segment, the ID.4 and its fastback counterpart, the ID.5, are also highly successful. With more than 950,000 units delivered since 2021, they rank among the most successful battery-electric vehicle (BEV) model series of Volkswagen AG.

1. Near-production concept car. The model is not yet available for sale.
2. ID. Cross – combined power consumption: 16.9–14.3 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km. CO2 class: A.
