BTCC 2014 Shedden Snatches race two win from Jordan

Lap 1 (photo by Marc Waller)Gordon Shedden has snatched the second win of the day from Andrew Jordan.

In the closing stages of the race Shedden made the move going up Woodham hill after following Jordan for much of the race. The race was then red flagged after a huge crash between Rob Austin and Nick Foster which saw Foster going backwards over the barriers on the fastest part of the circuit. Neither driver was injured.

Behind Shedden and Jordan, one of the drives of the race was from Rob Collard who took his Ebay Motors BMW to third after himself challenging Jordan in the early stages. When Shedden eventually got past he hung on to third place and was able to greet his son Ricky in Parc Ferme as Ricky waited to go out for his own Formula Ford race.

Colin Turkington was Sixth, unusually not the fastest of the Ebay Motors drivers this weekend. Jason plato hung on to seventh in his MG6 after a race long battle with Adam Morgan’s Mercedes and Jack Goff’s Vauxhalll Insignia. Rounding out the top ten was Fabrizio Giovanardi who then set up the chance of exciting race three by drawing himself to be on pole in the live ITV4 grid draw.

AMD Tuning’s Dave Newsham finished down in 23rd after getting spun out while battling for the last of the points positions.
