The new Renault Megane E-Tech electric is available to order in the UK from today, with prices starting from £28,245 on-the-road after the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant (ECG).
Unveiled earlier this year, the latest Megane E-Tech electric combines a refreshed design with improved range and faster charging, more connected technology and a streamlined two-version line-up.
Both techno and esprit Alpine trim levels use the same 220hp electric motor as well as a new 67kWh LFP battery, making the range simpler while increasing the level of standard equipment.
The new battery delivers up to 306 miles of WLTP range in techno specification – 21 miles more than the outgoing model. DC rapid charging capability has been boosted to 165kW, allowing a 15–80% charge in only 24 minutes, around 25% quicker than before.
The new Megane E-Tech electric range comprises techno and esprit Alpine trim levels, both offering a high level of technology, comfort and driver assistance as standard.
Standard equipment on techno includes new 19-inch ‘stream’ black diamond cut alloy wheels, a 360° around view 3D camera, driver recognition, driver attention monitoring with camera and a 12-inch openR link multimedia system with Google built-in. Prices start from £28,245 OTR after the Electric Car Grant.
Priced from £31,245 OTR after the grant, the esprit Alpine trim level gains distinctive esprit Alpine styling with 20-inch ‘speedway’ black diamond cut alloy wheels, front electric seats with driver massage function, Harman Kardon premium audio and active driver assist.
Both versions feature a 12.3-inch digital driver display, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, hands-free parking, heated front seats and steering wheel, a heat pump, battery pre-conditioning and five levels of regenerative braking including One Pedal driving.
The new Megane E-Tech electric features a redesigned front end, with every component apart from the headlights changed.
Its new daytime running light signature comprises eight diamond-shaped elements in a chequerboard pattern, complemented by a closed gloss black grille with a diamond motif. At the rear, redesigned lighting uses three-dimensional elements without a covering lens.
techno models now ride on 19-inch wheels as standard, while esprit Alpine is distinguished by 20-inch wheels and bespoke detailing inside and out.
