BTCC Donington Park practice 1

BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)Honda Yuasa Racing lead the way as the first BTCC track action of the weekend got underway at a sunny Donington Park.

2012 Champion Gordon Shedden lead the way from team mate Matt Neal. Just behind were the two KX Momentum Racing MG’s and it was Sam Tordoff ahead of his vastly more experienced team mate Jason Plato! Andrew Jordan continued to be quick with fifth for Pirtek Racing and Adam Morgan continued to show speed and confidence in his Toyota Avensis with sixth for his family team Ciceley Racing. Colin Turkington took seventh in his WSR BMW 1 series with his team mates lagging behind in 14th and 21st (Collard and Foster repsectively) The Toyota Avensis of Frank Wrathall and Dave Newsham (Dynojet and Speedworks) rounded out the top ten. The top 13 cars were separated by just over a second. In the Jack Sears trophy for S2000 cars, James Kaye led the way in the AMD VW Golf from Welch Motorsport’s David Nye in his Ford Focus.
