The BMW 3 Series Coupe is soon to be replaced by the 4 Series – a coupe and the company has just announced that the iconic M3 Coupe DTM, their motorsport crusader, will be replaced next year by the M4 Coupe DTM.
Road going versions of the new 4 Series Coupe go on sale in the UK shortly.
The announcement was made last weekend to coincide with the latest round of the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) held at the Nürburgring. The information was released with a picture of the BMW Concept M3 Coupe, the basis for the new touring car.
So far the M3 has 48 DTM wins to its name plus numerous other victories in other motorsport championships. Although the highest place BMW was second in Sunday’s rain affected DTM race behind an AMG Mercedes BMW still leads the Manufacturer’s championship ahead of AMG Mercedes with Audi third.
