Disapointment for Jamie Chadwick at Silverstone

Jamie Chadwick (photo by Marc Waller)Jamie Chadwick had yet another frustrating race weekend when the Ginetta Juniors were at Silverstone last weekend for rounds 17 and 18 of the Ginetta Junior championship.

Intitially it had looked like it’d be a great weekend for Jamie when she had a strong practice session but when she got to qualifying, she found herself in a slightly disappointing 8th and 10th place for the two races respectively. Her brother had more success finding a spot on the front row for both races.

In the first race Jamie got a great start and initially stayed in touch with the lead pack. After a while she found her tyres were going off and she faded back but she held 8th place to the flag.

Unfortunately she made an unusually bad start for race two and dropped down the field. She tried to fight back during the race but struggled to make much impact on the race. Sadly things went downhill further on the final lap when she was involved in a collision and dropped further back to 14th overall, crossing the line with her Bonnet askew.

Her Brother had a slightly better time but still finished in a disappointing (for him) 5th and 4th place for the two races.
After the races, the team discovered an issue with her car which explained her lack of performance this weekend. It was too late for this race weekend but Jamie hopes for a better time at the Brands Hatch finale;

“In both races my performance dropped off after the first few laps, which is something I’ve encountered since Oulton Park,” said Jamie. “Fortunately, we have at last been able to identify the likely cause and the team are confident that it can be solved. So, whilst I’m disappointed with the weekend’s results, at least I know it wasn’t my fault and my car should be sorted for Brands Hatch”

The final two races will be on the 12th and 13th October where Jamie will be hoping to end the season on a high. By Marc Waller
