BTCC 2014 Jordan makes it two out of two

BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)Andrew Jordan made it two out of two at Brands Hatch as he took another win in the second of the days races. Jason Plato’s car stopped on the grid and although he got it going again it put him out of contention.

Matt Neal had a collison with Rob Collard on the first lap after Collard lost the back end of his car into paddock hill bend which allowed Gordon Shedden to take advantage and move into second place. The clash put all three Ebay cars together on track with Foster ahead of Collard and Turkington. Chris Stockton then spun his car into the paddock hill gravel trap which brought out the safety car. The restart allowed Turkington to fight his way past both his team mates going into paddock hill bend and he then took third place from a recovered Matt Neal.

Possibly the most unfortunate driver of the race was Rob Austin whose car broke a driveshaft on the green flag lap losing him a chance of a great result from fifth on the grid. Giovanardi had a better race to tenth this time just behind Tom Ingram in ninth and Adam Morgan in eighth.

Alain Menu didn’t have much luck fighting up the field and ended up in seventeenth this time.

The reverse grid draw was made by Giovanardi who drew out sixth place making an all Ebay Motors front row of Collard from Foster for race three. Rob Collard failed to win a race in 2013 so this could be a great chance for him to return to the top step on 2014’s opening weekend. By Marc Waller
