Turkington leads home an Ebay Motors one-two at Oulton Park race one

BTCC action (photo by Marc Waller)Ebay Motors’ Colin Turkington led Team mate Rob Collard home in a one-two finish at the first race at Oulton Park .

MG’s Jason Plato was third and never looked like challenging Turkington but closed slightly on Collard near the end as the Ebay driver’s tyres started to go off.

Honda Yuuasa Racing driver Gordon Shedden took fourth but never looked like moving any higher. He did better than team mate Neal who finished a distant thirteenth and he appears to be struggling for pace around the Cheshire circuit.

Rob Austin took a strong fifth in his Audi and he finally looks like showing the pace that the car has shown it’s been capable of in the past and he will be hoping to move up further in the day’s other two races. Plato’s team mate Sam Tordoff was sixth, still unable to match his team mate’s pace this weekend. Mat Jackson took seventh as he was again the best place Airwaves Ford Focus, well ahead of team mate Giovanardi who finished just outside the top ten in eleventh. Nick Foster contributed to Ebay’s great result, taking his car to Eighth. Tom Ingram took ninth at Speedworks home circuit, the car carrying a message to team boss Christian Dick who was hurt in an endurance race last weekend. Completing the top ten was Marc Hynes continuing the improved pace he has been showing this weekend.
