The SuperRacing Aston (Photo by Marc Waller)Jamie Chadwick, the reigning British GT4 champion and BRDC rising star,

has made a surprise early return to the championship as she joins Mathew George at the Generation AMR SuperRacing team for the Brands Hatch opening round and the second round at Rockingham.

17 year old Chadwick was due to sit out the first half of the season as she concentrates on her exams before joing the championship from Spa francochamps with Bake off star Paul Hollywood. Hollywood was unable to do the early part of the season due to filming commitments.

But James Holder that was due to race for the SuperRacing team, has to miss the first two rounds due to business commitments which left a vacancy. The name SuperRacing refers Holder’s connection with the clothing brand Superdry, which he co-founded and remains design director for. 2016 is his debut season in British GT but it’s a debut which will now be delayed.

As both Jamie Chadwick and Mathew George that will share the car are both Silver rated professional level drivers, the car now switches to a Silver cup entry for those two rounds

Chadwick is pleased to be racing again despite originaly hoping to study for her exams without racing distractions;

“It’s certainly turning into a busier year than I expected,” she said. “This year I’ve got my A-Levels, so I had planned to limit my racing over the first half of the season, prior to linking up with Paul Hollywood and the Beechdean Aston Martin team for the final three rounds of British GT. However, when the opportunity arose to join the guys at SuperRacing, for the first two rounds, I couldn’t really refuse.”

She also mentioned her recent Formula 3 test;

“Other racing is possible and, in complete contrast, I have also been testing a BRDC F3 car with Hillspeed and guidance from experienced single-seater racer, Struan Moore. This will help broaden my racing outlook and give me some additional ‘aero’ experience. So, all in all, a busy year ahead, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get going.”

She knows the car well and has a great can-do attitude that has worked really well with us all so far. I am excited to see how Matthew and Jamie get on as a pairing.”
