They led from the start and pulled out a big lead before their pitstop and somehow rejoined still in the lead!

By contrast GT4 was won by Anna Walewska and Nathan Freke after starting dead last due to their car missing half of qualifying yesterday. They gradually rose up the GT4 field to lead during the final part of the race and take an amazing victory, as they also had a success penalty at their pitstop, fifteen seconds this time.

“We’ve had a weekend of bad luck up until today,” Walewska commented after the race “I guess today was a good time for our luck to change. It was tough starting from the back as I had to try and pick my way through the field but once we got to the front we could pull clear.”

Second overall and in GT3 was the Barwell Demon Tweeks Lamborghini Huracan of Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen with the Beachdean Aston Martin GT3 of Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn in third. The second Barwell Lamborghini had been heading for a podim finish until a drive through penalty dropped the Liam Griffin and Adam Carroll car to fourth.

Sixth was the Ryan Ratcliffe and Will Moore Audi R8 LMS run by Optimum. Seventh was the Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse Mclaren of Alisdair McCaig and Rob Bell which had qualified on the front row.

Eighth was the second TF sport Aston Martin of Mark Farmer and Jon Barnes, which didn’t run for the whole of Saturday after the engine failed before first practice. AMD Tuning’s BMW Z3 of Lee Mowle and Joe Osbourne was ninth. They had run much higher but a mystery problem slowed their pace after the pitstops.

Tenth was the Team Parker Bentley which had been rebuilt overnight after its massive practice crash on Saturday. In Gt4 Beachdean’s GT4 Aston took second with new Pairing Jack Bartholomew and Jordan Albert looking to take another championship for the successful team. Century Motorsport’s second car completed the podium with Sean Bryne and Aleksander Schjerpen having a strong race.

Another Ginetta was fourth Joey Foster and Alex Reed driving the Lanan racing G55.

Anna with her hard earned trophy (Photo by Marc Waller)Fifth was Abbie Eaton and Marcus Hoggarth, it was a good result considering the car’s handling was far from perfect.

Jamie Chadwick had heartbreak in the Generation AMR Aston Martin she drives alongside Mathew George when a failure late in the race deprived them of second place in GT4.

A full report will be available later on.
