The latest rounds of the Mighty Mini Championship were held at Rockingham in mid-April followed more recently, with a race meet at Castle Combe.

Practice at Rockingham was wet and slippery but Lisette managed to keep her car on the track whilst all around, others were sliding off. Red flags were in overdrive but thankfully nothing serious. Despite the conditions Lisette was at least able to learn the track as it was her first time at Rockingham. Going anti-clockwise was less difficult than she first imagined.

Qualifying went well in drier conditions and she managed ninth on the grid. Despite jumping places on the start Lisette was unable to hold on and slipped back to her starting position but she fought hard, with close racing with Number sixty, finally finishing ninth. Race two was much the same but a creditable eighth on an unfamiliar track was good enough to lift Lisette to ninth in the overall championship.

Clear blue skies, soaring temperature and large crowds greeted the Mighty Minis at Castle Combe on the bank holiday Monday for the May Day Madness race weekend. Castle Combe is a circuit Lisette has raced on before and is her local venue so she was determined to improve on her placing last year. Right from the start of qualifying Lisette was setting personal bests and was happy to achieve thirteenth on the grid. Quarry Corner provided some tense moments and near misses at the start of the first race as all the Minis sped into the notorious corner three and four abreast but Lisette held her nerve and position and quickly settled into a rhythm that saw her finish in tenth position. Although again Lisette set a new personal best she felt she had more to give. By the time of race 2, the car and all the crowds were simmering in the record temperatures. The race started as chaotic as the first and Lisette saw cars behind her spinning off giving her an early respite allowing her to focus on those ahead of her. A fantastic day ended well as Lisette came across the line to finish 9th, again setting a personal best time!
