Bentayga

BentaygaAs we come to the end of another week we look at some of the Motoring news which you may have missed starting with the new Bentayga range of accessories

Four new collections of Bentley accessories are now available for customers of the new Bentley Bentayga to enhance the specification and capability of their extraordinary luxury SUV even further. The four-strong portfolio – Exterior, Interior, Touring and Protection – allow customers to increase the individualism, luxury and utility of their Bentayga. The Bentley accessories range is developed by the same engineers at Crewe as the cars themselves and are tested with the same level of scrutiny, guaranteeing immaculate quality.

A highlight of the accessories range is the sports exhaust, created in conjunction with renowned manufacturer Akrapovič, and which creates a more exciting exhaust note. The lightweight system is made from high-grade titanium, and consists of a set of link pipes, a muffler, and two sets of oval tailpipes, which are engraved with the Bentley and Akrapovič logos and specially coated for increased durability and protection. The central silencer is replaced with straight pipes, which channel the exhaust gases into the customer rear muffler where they are swirled through internal baffles to create a more characterful voice. Through close cooperation between Bentley and Akrapovič engineers, the system has been specifically designed for the Bentayga and uses complex parts cast in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry, including the housings of the exhaust valves, which offer added control over the sound of the exhaust for discerning users.

The system is inspired by the special exhaust system made by Akrapovič for Bentley’s Pikes Peak Bentayga, which set a new record for production SUVs on the infamous Pikes Peak hillclimb in 2018. It is available now for the Bentayga V8 in Bentley’s North American and Middle East markets, while a version of the exhaust for the first generation Bentayga W12 is available globally as an aftersales accessory.

The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which takes its design cues from the current AMG GT3 race car, features a hand-built 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine generating 730 hp and 800 Nm Torque – making it the most powerful series V8 engine ever produced by AMG. It can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 201 mph.

The GT Black Series is the sixth Black Series from Mercedes-AMG; the first was the SLK 55 Black Series revealed in 2006, and most-recently the SLS Black Series in 2013. These models are designed especially for high-speed use on a racetrack, ultimately borrowing technology from motorsport relatives – while still being approved for the road.

The rear of the newest Black Series is characterised by a new rear apron with a large diffuser, while its carbon-fibre roof and tailgate make it the lightest GT model yet.

In a choice of nine exclusive AMG Magma Beam Paint colours, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series sits on 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) AMG 10-spoke forged wheels, painted in black, and comes with the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system and black brake callipers.

The folding e-bike line, born from the partnership between Ducati and MT Distribution, is designed for those who want to move around the city without compromising on style and comfort and is made up of three models: Urban-E, under the Ducati brand, and SCR -E and SCR-E Sport, dedicated to the Ducati Scrambler world.

As for the scooters, considerable attention has been paid to design in the development of the e-bikes, for which the Centro Stile Ducati was responsible. For the Urban-E model, Ducati designers collaborated with Italdesign, to propose a unique model of its kind, with customized components characterized by an original and distinctive style.

The two folding e-bike models dedicated to the Ducati Scrambler “Land of Joy” are available on the market since July, while the Ducati branded e-bike will be available to buy from October.

Now retailers have reopened for business, those who would still prefer to stay at home can complete an important part of their Alpine purchase online thanks to the Online Showroom, accessed via the Alpine customer website.

When visiting the website, customers will be invited to view the A110 in the Online Showroom, in a dedicated one-to-one appointment where an Advisor can provide a tour around a car and share detailed information, just like the service buyers would ordinarily get in an Alpine retailer.

To avoid waiting around, if the Online Showroom is already busy, customers can book an appointment to visit later and carry on with their day. If the Advisor is available, they will go live immediately for a personalised tour.
