Iron Dames and Manthey regret to announce that Michelle Gatting will not be taking part in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans after sustaining foot fractures during a pit stop driver change during the test session.
This is deeply disappointing for Michelle and the entire team, but she is in good spirits and now focusing on her recovery, with the full support of everyone at Iron Dames and Manthey.
Sarah Bovy will step in to join Rahel Frey and Célia Martin in the Iron Dames line-up. With four previous Le Mans starts and a strong track record, her experience and determination will be key as the team takes on this year’s challenge.
The Iron Dames also announced that their two drivers Vanina Ickx and Marta Garcia are to miss Road to Le Mans.
The difficult decision to not take part in the race follows a recent health issue for Vanina and on medical advice, she will not be competing at Le Mans.
The team shared the news that Vanina is doing well and is expected to return to racing soon. By Melissa Warren
