Lorenzo leads Jerez free MotoGP Practice

Jorge Lorenzo (photo by MotoGP)Spain’s Jorge Lorenzo topped the timesheets at the Gran Premio bwin de Espana, he was followed by British rider Cal Crutchlow on his Monster Yamaha Tech3 machine setting the third fastest time was Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.

Lorenzo’s Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi claimed fourth place with championship leader Marc Marquez not far behind the Italian. GO&FUN Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista, Energy T.I. Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone and Ducati’s Nicky Hayden filled places sixth to eighth. Top CRT ride of the practice session went to Blusens Hector Barbera, beating fellow Spaniard Aleix Espargaro who rounded out the top ten on his Power Electronic Aspar. 

Ignite Pramac Racing’s Ben Spies will not take part in the Jerez race as the American racer is still suffering with a shoulder injury. elsewhere LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl crashed during the session as did Yonny Hernandez. By Laura Turner
