LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl topped the timesheets at his home GP in Sachsenring, Germany.
The German set a time of 1.22’030. to edge out second place man Dani Pedrosa and with his Repsol Honda team-mate Marc Marquez taking third.
Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo suffered another crash after he high-sided heavily landing on his already injured left shoulder, he was taken to the Clinica Mobile where tests showed the eight shrews in the shoulder were ok but the plate had been dented with impact. Lorenzo will tested again before a decision is made whether the Spaniard will be fit to race on Sunday.
Lorenzo’s team-mate Valentino Rossi finished fifth fastest, while Ducati’s Nicky Hayden set the sixth fastest time of the session. Aspars Aleix Espargaro claimed seventh place. Andrea Dovizioso took eighth. Pramac racings Andrea Iannone and Monster Tech3 Yamaha’s Bradley Smith completed the top ten. By Laura Turner
