Record breaker Marquez wins again in Brno

Marc Marquez (photo by MotoGP)Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez claimed another stunning victory at the bwin Grand Prix Ceske Republiky.

After a race long battle with team-mate Dani Pedrosa and Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo, it was Marquez who managed to build a gap between himself and his fellow compatriots to extend his lead in the World Championship standings.


It was a repeat of last week’s Indianapolis race with Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi, GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista and Monster Yamaha Tech3 pole sitter Cal Crutchlow, the three were again in the midst of battle when Crutchlow suffered a crash. The Briton was able to get back on track crossing the finish line in seventeenth place. Rossi took fourth and Bautista fifth.

LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl had a lonely ride in sixth and the battle of the Ducati’s was won By Andrea Dovizioso in seventh team-mate Nicky Hayden followed on. The top ten was rounded out by Pramac Ducati rider Andrea Iannone and the lead CRT Aleix Espargaro on his Power Electronic Aspar machine.

The race which had seen a few spots of rain and saw four crashes, Monster Yamaha’s Bradley Smith, local rider Lukas Pesek, NGM Forward Racing’s Claudio Corti and Hector Barbera. MotoGP now heads to Silverstone for the twelfth race of the season.

The World Championship Standing is as follows –
1. Marc Marquez – 213 Points
2. Dani Pedrosa – 187 Points
3. Jorge Lorenzo – 169 Points
4. Valentino Rossi – 143 Points
