Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo claimed a commanding victory at the San Marino GP in Misano to keep his title hopes alive.
Repsol Honda team-mates Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa completed the podium.
Lorenzo’s Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi couldn’t keep up with the pace of the Repsol Honda’s and had to settle for Fourth place at his home GP, LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl mugged Tech3 Yamaha’s Cal Crutclow for fifth. GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautisa had a lonely ride in seventh. Andrea Dovizioso crossed the finish line in front of his Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden. Ducati test rider Michele Pirro who is still standing in for the injured Ben Spies rounded out the top ten.
Top CRT ride of the day went to NGM Mobile Forward Racing’s Colin Edward elsewhere Power Electronic Aspar’s Aleix Espargaro suffered a ride-through penalty for jump- starting on the grid, he was able to pull back his position to thirteenth.
The MotoGP Would Championship Standings are now as follows –
1. Marc Marquez – 253 Points
2. Jorge Lorenzo – 219 Points
3. Dani Pedrosa – 219 Points
