Rossi and Pedrosa share lead as Sepang MotoGP test concludes

Valentino Rossi (photo by MotoGP)Factory Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda ‘s Dani Pedrosa finished the Sepang Test in Malaysia with the exact same lap time of 1’59.999, with both riders demonstrating their strong pace.

Again the top Ducati was Andrea Dovizioso, it was announced today that the Ducati team will enter the “Open” class this gives them the use of a greater engine allocation and electronic software. 

In fourth NGM Mobile Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro, again it was a steady day for LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl who finished the test in fifth place. Following the German was Go & Fun Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista. Yet again it was another frustrating day for Jorge Lorenzo with the Spaniard having to settle for seventh place. Making steady improvements was Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow in eighth, and again the Tech3 Yamaha team of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro completed the top ten after trying out a new gear-box.
Not taking part in this week test at Sepang was Current MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez and he will again miss the next test on the 3rd – 5th March at Phillip Island, as he still recovers from his broken leg. By Laura Turner
