MotoGP World Champion Marquez takes first pole position of the season

Marc Marquez (photo by MotoGP)Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez set a time of 1.54’507 to take pole position for the first race of the 2014 season that got underway in the floodlights of Qatar.

With GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista in second and claiming his first front row start, Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Bradley Smith.

Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso heads- up the second row with Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo following on, Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa came home in sixth. LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl and Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow claimed seventh and eighth respectively.
Having suffered two crashes during the session Aleix Espargaro managed ninth, and completing the top ten is Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi.  By Laura Turner
