Marquez remains dominant in MotoGP practice

Marc Marquez (photo by MotoGP)World Champion Marc Marquez remained in dominant form as he led both free practice sessions at the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas in Texas,

Ducatis Andrea Dovizoso took second with Dani Pedrosa in third on his Repsol Honda machine. Pramac Ducati’s Andrea Iannone claimed fourth with Yamaha ‘s Valentino Rossi followed on, it was an impressive start to the race weekend by Aleix Espargaro in sixth he easily outpaced LCR Honda’s Stefa bradl. Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo who this week said he is considering his future with the team took eighth. Completing the top ten is Ducat’s Cal Crutchlow and Monster tech3 Yamaha’s Bradley Smith. 

It was announced this week that Colin Edwards will retire from the sport at the end of the 2014 season. The Texan used his home race to announce the news, stating he wishes to spend more time with his wife and children. But after 22 years of racing, he will be greatly missed in the paddock.   By Laura Turner
