Marquez marks 100th GP with win at Jerez

The current MotoGP World Champion pulled away from second place man, Valentino Rossi who was unable to respond to the Spaniard’s pace. Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa took third.

Birthday boy Jorge Lorenzo crossed the finish line in fourth, while Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso claimed fifth he was followed by NGM Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro. The Monster Tech3 Yamaha team claimed eighth and ninth place with Bradley smith finishing just ahead of team-mate Pol Espargaro. Completing the top ten was LCR Honda’s Stefan Bradl.

It was a disappointing return for Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow who had to retire from the race early on , along with NGM’s Colin Edwards, Cardion AB Motoracing Karel Abraham and Pramac Racings Andrea Iannone.

2. Dani Pedrosa – 72 Points.
3. Valentino Rossi – 61 Points.
4. Andrea Dovizioso – 45 Points.
