Pedrosa on MotoGP pole for Catalan GP

Dani Pedrosa (photo by MotoGP)Home favourite Dani Pedrosa secured his first pole position of the 2014 season and ends the run of pole positions for fellow Spaniard and team-mate Marc Marquez.

Pedrosa set a time of 1.40’985s at the Monster Energy de Catalunya GP in Spain. In second place Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo, who will be hoping he can fight for the win infront of his home crowd. The current MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez will start from third place after suffering a crash towards the end of the session. 

Germany’s Stefan Bradl heads the second row with Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi just behind in fifth. NGM Forward Racings Aleix Espargaro set a good pace as he qualified sixth.
In seventh Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso will start ahead of Tech3 Yamaha’s Bradley Smith and Pramac Racings Yonny Hernandez. Taking tenth is another Spainard Pol Espargaro on his Tech3 Yamaha. By  Laura Turner
