The Beachdean Aston Martin team of Jonny Adam and Andrew Horward have taken race two honours here at Snetterton.
The race was restarted after a huge shunt between the Kinfaun and HPR Aston Martins and the Triple Eight BMW of Luke Hines caused massive barrier damage. The three cars made contact going into Riches and went off at almost unabated speed into the tyre wall which was severely deformed. All the drivers were unhurt although the same couldn’t be said for their cars. The rebuilding work took nearly an hour meaning the race was reduced to fifty five minutes.
After the restart Beachdean charged off into a lead they were never to lose. Adam Carroll, Gary Eastwood’s new team mate helped the FF Corse team to second with Tom Onslow Cole and Paul White taking third spot in their Strata 21 Aston Martin. Race one winner Phil Keen and Jon Minshaw took their trackspeed Porsche to fourth this time with Triple Eight’s Lee Mowle and Joe Osbourne in fifth.
GT4 had an all Ginetta G55 Podium, Silverstone winner Bradley Ellis and Adrian Barwick winning from both Century Motorsport Ginetta’s, the Rick Parfitt and Tom Oliphant car ahead of Morten Dons and Aleksander Schjerpen. Sadly Jade Edward’s Ginetta did not start after technical issues.
In news from race one Derek Johnston and Luke Hines were Disqualified from their podium finish for contact with another car. The MP Motorsport Aston Martin (Poole/Abra) was also disqualified for the same reasons. The other Triple Eight BMW now takes third in race one.
